Singapore’s contemporary era began in 1819 when Sir Stamford Raffles established it as an entrepôt trading post of the British Empire. Subsequently, Singapore became an independent republic in 1965, and over a few decades, established itself as a leading business hub in Asia. This is, in no small part, due to the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of our first-generation leaders, led by Singapore's first prime minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.
Oxley Bridge Capital (OBC) draws inspiration from and continues this legacy. Oxley Road, located in the central part of Singapore, was where ox-drawn carts used to traverse, carrying goods from the port to the city as an important conduit to regional trade. It was where ex-PM Mr Lee used to live.
